Of course!
All our products are made from pure materials that are allergy-safe.
We use the following materials:
- Tungsten (tungsten carbide)
- 18-karat genuine gold plating
The EU has issued a nickel directive called EN 1811. Its purpose is to prevent allergies and hypersensitivity from contact with nickel. The limit for how much nickel may be released per cm² per week over a 2-year period is up to 0.5 µg/cm²/week. A margin of error of up to 0.88 µg/cm²/week is accepted. You can read more about this here.
Our jewelry is tested and the nickel release is below the limit or non-existent. That is what we call allergy-safe.
WHAT IS TUNGSTEN?
TUNGSTEN/WOLFRAM
With a melting point of 3,422°C, tungsten is known for its incredibly high temperature tolerance. It is one of the most robust materials available. Its density and hardness make it an ideal candidate for a wide range of applications, such as aerospace engineering and high-performance tools.
Tungsten is an important component in the manufacture of jewelry. Thanks to its durability and scratch resistance, tungsten rings are perfect for those who want both style and durability in their jewelry.
Our rings are made from a blend of tungsten and carbon. To bind these materials and give the ring its polished finish, we use a small amount of nickel. The material is bonded extremely tightly, which is why the nickel release from our rings is below the EU limit and counts as nickel-safe.
WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?
The name Tungsten comes from the Swedish mineralogist Axel Fredrik Cronstedt and refers to the material's high density. We have chosen to keep using the name "Tungsten" because we think it suits us better. The Swedish name is actually "Volframkarbid".
