Where does the name come from?
The name Tungsten comes from the Swedish mineralogist Axel Fredrik Cronstedt, and refers to the high density of the material. We have chosen to continue using the name "Tungsten" as we think it suits us better. The Swedish name is actually "Volframkarbid".
